"Ask me how I know" Tip:
If you back the tip of the ribbon with washi tape (preferably of a similar color) the ribbon does not fray.

You can also stiffen the bakers' twine with some Glossy Accents  or Glue 'n Seal to keep it somewhat stiff.

SYS2 - Outline stamps

I did not like the whole piece I created so I cut out the areas I liked best in circles.

SYS 2 Graphic Stamps

This is not want i wanted to achieve but it was the best that I could do. I would love to get that clean and crisp graphic look but cannot get the inks to work for me. The Tim Holtz stamp has a retro smudged look to it and I think that i should have chosen something with cleaner and crisper lines.

Online Card Class Day 6

Here I tried using the "take away" method of coloring but ended up also adding color to the base of the flower.

Online Card Class Day One

Great tips on today's Online Card Class. Here I tried to
use a background stamp and blend two colors -black and silver. Am not sure how well they actually blended. I wanted to try something in this color range for the background of my doddling cum stamping.

Ribbon and shimmer

I really worked hard on this card but am not at all pleased with the final results. Too busy perhaps? I was aiming at making a card with glitter and ribbon that could also be used as a "guy" card:

First I took some gray card stock and made repeated stripes across it of various thicknesses, using ribbon, glitter, small beads, atamps and embossing powder to make my own background paper.

Next I took a Sizzix Star die cut as well as a Simon Says stamps star and hearts die strip to make stars from this paper. I repeated this step with plain orange cardstock to make one large star.

I made two stripes of glitter across the front of the card.

I then  completely covered the back of the card with a stamped stars -  from the Hero Arts "Operation write home" clear stamp set.

I took the larger star made from the glitter/ribbon paper, backed it with the orange star and glued it on the front of the card, and placed some of the smaller die cut stars on front of it. Afterwards, i stamped more stars onto the card front (one was double stamped). I placed some of the smaller die cut stars on top of them or placed them on their own. Lastly I stamped the sentiment onto lighter gray card stock and placed it behind the largest star. I traced over the sentiment with a clear Wink of Stella brush.

Some of the smaller stars from the Simon Says set were glued onto the stamped stars or placed on their own. Finally, lots of Glossy Accents to create a 3D effect to the glittered stripes.

Favorite Stamp

I had seen this stamp but never found it on sale. Then, the last time I was in the USA I did find it...But once I got it I really did not know what to do with it so I challenged myself to make various different cards with this stamp. Here is one. The background was made with a very old round stamp, paper from an old agenda, stamped vintage paper. The  card stock and other doodads are from my stash. Ink: Vintage photo and Pumice Stone Distress Inks

Tag Card with glitter background

...and to think I never liked glitter--but after i saw Jennifer McGuire's tutorial on glitter I have had lots of fun making backgrounds and detail with it.  Here I made a tag card with Sookwang double sided tape and varous kinds of glitter. The brown craft tag is from Ranger. The star stamps are from Hero Arts, the bling is from Prima Marketing, and the rest is from my stash.
Despite the glam, the glitter and the ribbon, I still thought of it as a masculine card for father's day.

Simon Says Monday Challenge - M

M is marbled paper. This is a very simple card because I wanted to focus to be on the
hand made and hand painted marbled paper. I tried adding other accents because I thought it was a bit Spartan, but they did not seem to add anything. Indeed they detracted from the, it is just very, very simple.

Wishing for everything in green!

I wanted to try a card using the frames from the Martha Steward silicone molds. The card stock is from Lidl, the background stamp is from Impression Obsession stamped in Green Hills (Hero mid-tone inks); everything is leftovers in my stash.
Here I used an chevron background stamp and stamped it in Iced spruce Distress. The center panel is Tin Holtz Flutter stamp of te Conponents collection. I used all my green distress inks to watercolor the stamps. I added a thin film of glue and some glitter here and there.

Winter (sort of ) Haiku Journal page

I was feeling the winter blues and so made this page for my journal with a "sort-of" haiku, in the hopes that it stops raining, the weather gets better and life looks up :)

I used some very old stamps, black gesso, Dylusion sprays, gelatos and a Martha Stewart punch.

Entered in Timbroscramania's challenge 87 "Winter Inspirations" -- of lack there of, I would add.
